We built a LEED-certified home and used Excelsior's reclaimed heart pine in many ways: flooring, benches, and posts. Ron sourced and obtained amazingly gorgeous beams from a factory in Ohio that were planed into gorgeous, wide plank flooring. I built the house along with a lead carpenter who was initially skeptical about working with such long, wide reclaimed wood. He was also skeptical that the finish - a single coat of Monocoat - would work as promised. By the end of the installation, our carpenter was a convert. He said, "This was the easiest, best floor to install. And, I can't believe a single coat of non-toxic Monocoat could be so easy to use yet so beautiful." A year later, the floor looks great. Even more, it feels great on our feet.
